The Engan, or more precisely Enga – Southern Highland , languages are a small family of Papuan languages of the highlands of Papua New Guinea. Erling Engan
Erling Engan (14 June 1910 – 9 May 1982) was a Norwegian politician for the Centre Party. He was born in Saltdal. He was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Nordland in 1954, and was re-elected on four occasions. Engan was a member of the executive committee of Saltdal municipal council from 1951 to 1979. He chaired the regional party chapter from 1951 to 1954, and was a member of the national party board during this period as well as from 1958 to 1973. Jonette Ellen Engan (born November 29, 1951) is an American politician and a member of the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party. DFL Party leader A resident of Willmar, Minnesota, Engan is a former DFL Party leader. She served as chair of the old 2nd Congressional District DFL from 1989 to 1997, succeeding longtime chair Harold Windingstad. The sprawling district encompassed southwestern Minnesota, and included all or portions of 31 counties. Prior to being elected chair, she had served as associate chair of the district from 1983 to 1989. In addition to her activism in congressional district politics, Engan was also involved at the state and national level. She was a member of the Minnesota DFL's central and executive committees, and was selected as a presidential elector for the 1992 presidential election in which Bill Clinton defeated George H. Kjersti Engan (born 1971) is a Norwegian researcher in signal processing, signal and image processing who works as a professor of electrical engineering and computer science at the University of Stavanger. Engan was born in 1971 in Bergen. She earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering in 1994 from Bergen University College. She then moved to the University of Stavanger for graduate study, completing her doctorate in 2000. At Stavanger, she was promoted to full professor in 2008. Engan is a member of the Norwegian Academy of Technological Sciences.
